At U.S. Figure Skating we are committed to providing a safe environment for our members to participate in our sport in an atmosphere that is free of misconduct and abuse. The U.S. Center for SafeSport's online SafeSport™ Training was developed to educate our members and nonmember volunteers on abuse and misconduct in sport.
The training is free for U.S. Figure Skating members and nonmember volunteers when completed through U.S. Figure Skating Members Only. The initial 90 minute SafeSport™ Trained covers mandatory reporting, sexual misconduct awareness education, and emotional and physical misconduct. For three years following the core course, users will be prompted to complete a Refresher course. Only the core course or one refresher course are needed every 365 days.
SafeSport™ Training is an annual requirement. The SafeSport™ Training "valid through" date now shows the training as being valid for 365 days after your completion date. This may mean you are only compliant midway through a season, so please be mindful of your training "valid through" date in order to maintain compliance. Reminders are in place that will allow members to complete their annual training one month in advance of their training expiration date in order to avoid a gap in compliance mid-season.
