VOLUNTEER COMMITMENT (Required)
I
have been informed of and understand Valley Figure Skating Club’s policy
requiring each family to
perform twenty-five (25) volunteer hours.
(NOTE: Limited Synchro Membership and Associate
Members are required to perform 10 volunteer hours for the VFSC). I know
that volunteer opportunity information will be available on the bulletin boards
at the ice arenas, or online at our club website (www.vfsclub.com), and/or by contacting the
VFSC Volunteer Coordinator, Board Members, and/or Committee Chairs (names and
phone numbers to be posted at the ice arenas and/or on the club website). It is MY responsibility to contact the
Volunteer Coordinator, Board Members and/or Committee Chairs to arrange my (or
members of my family) volunteer hours.
The VFSC
2008-09 Volunteer Coordinator is Kendra Weindling – (920) 731-2246.
Twenty-five (25) hours of
volunteer time must be fulfilled before June 30, 2009. I understand that unfulfilled volunteer hours
will be charged to my account at a rate of $10.00 per hour and I (or members of
my family) will not be considered Members
in Good Standing unless and until any such charges are paid.
A
Member in Good Standing is required
status for participation in all USFS sanctioned competitions, testing, ice show
participation and synchronized participation.

I
have been informed of and understand Valley Figure Skating Club’s policy
requiring each member to sell a minimum of one (1) business card size ad for
EITHER the VFSC Competition Program OR the VFSC Ice Show Program. Information about the cost and size of ads
will be provided for me at a later date through the competition registration
forms. I understand that if I do not
submit an ad for either event, I will be billed $25.00.

FUND RAISING
COMMITMENT
Mandatory Fundraising- Mandatory fundraising will go into effect July, 1, 2008.
o
Fundraise $125 per year (July 1 to June 30)
o
Sell one
business ad in the ice show (as noted above) or competition program OR $25 in
additional fundraising.
o
All
fundraisers will be included. Amount of
monies to be applied against your $125 commitment will be determined by the
specific fundraiser and will equal the PROFIT that VFSC receives from the
organization. Therefore, this is NOT
based on sales – it is based on PROFIT to VFSC.
o
No prizes will
be given for fundraisers except for Hanson’s (which they supply) and the top
seller award.
o
Fundraising
above $125 can be used toward your ad commitment or towards your volunteer
hours commitment.
If you have any questions
regarding the amount that you have fundraised, please contact our Fundraising
Coordinator, Deb Sawin at (920)205-0285 or dsawin@new.rr.com
I have been informed of and understand Valley Figure Skating Club’s policy regarding Mandatory Fundraising and if I do not raise the above amount, I understand that I will be liable to pay the remaining portion in order to remain in good standing with VFSC and USFS as noted above in the Volunteer Commitment Section.

Every
member who is using club ice, either contracted or as a walk-on, will be
required to play music a specified number of times during each contract
period. The number of required hours
will be determined by the number of hours in each contract and the number of
skaters using the ice.
EXCEPTIONS:
1.
Board members
are not required to play music, but can if they would like to.
2.
Members who
never use club ice, even as a walk-on, will not be required to play music, but
they can if they would like to use it as a way to earn some volunteer
hours. HOWEVER, if a skater’s family
does not sign up to play music, and their skater does use club ice even one
time, they will be required to play music during the next contract period, even
if they are not planning on using club ice during that contract.
Prior to the beginning of each contract period, the volunteer coordinator will contact all club members via e-mail to let them know how many hours they are required to sign up for during the upcoming contract period. You may sign up for more hours than required if you want to use this as a way to get your volunteer hours. Members will be given the opportunity to sign up for the hours they prefer on a “first come, first served” basis.
After all members
have been given an opportunity to sign up, those who have not signed up will be
filled in randomly to complete the schedule.
The volunteer coordinator does not have the contracts when doing this,
so there is no way to guarantee that members will be assigned to sessions that
their skater is skating.
The volunteer coordinator will make every effort to schedule members as evenly as possible so that one family does not have more of a burden than any other family. Frequently, the number of hours needed and the number of skaters using club ice will not be exactly even, but the volunteer coordinator will try to even it out as much as possible throughout the year. Each family will be expected to play music equally to all other families, regardless of how many skaters they have in their family or how often their skaters use club ice.
POLICY REGARDING “NO SHOWS” for Music Monitoring:
1. If a parent doesn't show up for their assigned session AND if their skater is on the ice, the skater will be asked to leave the ice by a board member, in order to act as music monitor for that assigned session. If the skater is not familiar with playing music, one of the board members on site, will educate the skater. For contracted skaters, this missed session CAN NOT be made up.
2. If a parent doesn't show up for their assigned session AND the skater is NOT on the ice, the member will be billed $20.00 for not showing up. The member will be responsible for paying this fee in full or they will not remain in good standing with the VFSC. A member not in "good standing" has unpaid, past due bills and is not allowed to walk-on or contract ice until their bill is paid in full.
3. Notification: Kathy McCord will be the Board Member responsible for contacting the assigned family to notify them of the situation. She will contact the family either via email and/or phone. If you have any questions, please contact Kathy via phone at 216-1254 or email kjm1@new.rr.com
Please
contact the volunteer coordinator with any questions you have regarding this
requirement.
