Dear VFSC Member Families,

First, the VFSC Board would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the parents that have been playing music over the last few months.  It keeps the flow going on the ice and is appreciated by the skaters, coaches and the VFSC Board.  Also a big thank you to Kendra Weindling for taking on the huge task of generating the music monitor schedule.

For the most part,  members have shown up when assigned, however, in recents months, the number of "no shows" for the music monitor position has increased.  It is very important that the assigned music monitor arrives for each scheduled session.  Currently, parents receive an hour of volunteer time for each session that they music monitor, but there aren't any consequences if a member doesn't show up for their assigned session.

With the increased number of "no shows", the board has approved some consequences for not showing up for your assigned session as follows:

1.  If a parent doesn't show up for their assigned session AND if their skater is on the ice, the skater will be asked to leave the ice by a board member, in order to act as music monitor for that assigned session.  If the skater is not familiar with playing music, one of the board members on site, will educate the skater.  For contracted skaters, this missed session CAN NOT be made up.

2.  If a parent doesn't show up for their assigned session AND the skater is NOT on the ice, the member will be billed $20.00 for not showing up.    The member will be responsible for paying this fee in full or they will not remain in good standing with the VFSC.  A member not in "good standing" has unpaid, past due bills and is not allowed to walk-on or contract ice until their bill is paid in full.

3.  Notification: Kathy McCord will be the Board Member responsible for contacting the assigned family to notify them of the situation.  She will contact the family either via email and/or phone.

If you have any questions, please contact Kathy via phone at 731-2246  or email   kmj1@new.rr.com

4.  Switching Assigned Times:  You are more than welcome to switch times/days with another family.  We know there have been alot of switches and most have worked out great.  HOWEVER, if you switch times with another family, it is YOUR responsibility to let Kendra Weindling (kendrajw@aol.com) know, so she can change it on the master schedule.  If you do not let Kendra know, and the member that you switched with does not show up, YOU are held responsible for #1 or #2 above (i.e your skater will be asked to leave the ice or you will be billed the $20.00 fee).

We understand that emergencies may arise.  If you aren't able to make it on the day you are scheduled due to any emergency, please contact one of the following Board Members, who are frequently at the rink during club ice:  Kathy McCord, Mary Bricco, Hollie Weycker and Sandra Lenz.  Make sure that you get ahold of someone and don't just leave a message.  Their numbers or emails are as follows:

Mary Bricco    920-250-0386   marybricco@hotmail.com

Kathy McCord   216-1254    kmj1@new.rr.com

Hollie Weycker  766-0544

Sandra Lenz   757-5232

The above new policy is effective as of March 1st, 2008.

Thanks again to all of those members who have music monitored.

Thank you for your cooperation in the matter.

 Sincerely,

VFSC Board
