REGISTRATION INFO & FORM
“Skating
Through the Seasons” Ice Show, 2012
ELIGIBILITY: Skaters
that have passed their PRE-PRE Moves
Test by 12-1-11 and are FULL Contracting VFSC Members are eligible to sign up
to skate a Special Number. However,
there are a limited number of solos, duets, trios and quads that are planned
for each show and the coaches will select the skaters they feel are best suited
for that number based on FS level as of 12-1-11 and compatibility with other
skaters. To sign up for a special, please fill out below and pay the initial
specials reservation fee of $20.00. Any
refunds or monies owed will be taken care of during costume pick up.
Coaches will be
selecting music for all of the numbers, including both group numbers and
special numbers, i.e. solos, duets, trios and quads. Coaches will be responsible for music
selection, skater grouping (groups and specials) and costume selection for
groups. All music selections, groupings and specials groupings will be
completed by December. A poster will
be hung up at both rinks, announcing the music and costume selections. This information will also be emailed to you
if you provide an email address.
Skaters will choose
their costumes for their special number. The books will be made available
during club ice at both rinks. Books MAY
NOT be taken home!!! MUST BE
SELECTED BY 12-18-11.
Please ask your coach to
review your costume choice.
SOLO ELIGIBILITY: Only FULL
VFSC members who CONTRACT ICE are eligible to skate a SOLO based on the
following:
1. All High School Seniors will be guaranteed a solo,
regardless of level.
2.
All skaters who have passed a SENIOR TEST (Moves, FS or Dance as of 12-1-11) will be guaranteed a solo.
BASED ON THE NUMBER
OF SPACES AVAILABLE AFTER THE ABOVE 2 REGISTRATIONS ARE RECEIVED: IF there
are spaces available based on the music and show (with a preferred maximum
number of solos at 6 skaters) - VFSC will hold tryouts for additional solos or
step-out solos.
If you are interested in POSSIBLY trying out for a solo or
step-out solo opening (IF AVAILABLE), please check here □
MUSIC – All the music will be cut by one person and distributed on a
CD to each skater skating in a Special Number.
The coach choreographing your number will also receive a copy to work
with. The music cutting fee is included
in the Specials Fees below – you will not be billed an additional music cutting
fee from your coach! This was done to
make the cutting and distribution of Special Music uniform for all
skaters. Specials Music will be distributed in March.
SPECIALS FEE
SCHEDULE: Solo $35.00 Duet
$25.00 Trio $20.00 Quad
$15.00
INITIAL DEPOSIT - $20.00 to reserve your
space in a Special Number
MORE THAN ONE SPECIAL
NUMBER Only one special number will be assigned per
skater. However,
based on the registrations, we may need a skater to fill in “where
needed”. Therefore, a skater may be
needed to fill a duet, trio or quad special number and may have to skate below
their level. Fill in skaters will not be
asked to skate with more advanced skaters.
This is a great opportunity to get to know other skaters in the club.
If
you are willing to fill in “where needed” and possibly skate below your level,
please check here □
NOTE: These
will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis – the order that the forms
are received. These roles will incur
extra costume costs and registration fees.

GUEST
REGISTRATION FORM
“Skating
Through the Seasons” Ice Show, 2012
This
year’s ice show will include 3 numbers that we will involve skaters other than
club or basic skills skaters. They are
as follows:
Dad’s Number
– very popular every year. Try to make
all of the practices, but
even if you can’t, we’d still love for you to participate. Must be a Dad or
Grandfather of an Ice
Show skater. No experience necessary.
Mom’s Number
– definitely the funniest routine in past shows. Must be a Mom or
Grandmother of an Ice
Show Skater. No experience necessary.
Hockey Player Number – High School hockey players will
skate with our High School club
skaters. This is always a crowd pleaser. Must be at least a high school age hockey
player. Only a limited number of spaces are
available. Must participate in all 5
practices.
Costumes will vary. We try to select something that is common and
won’t need to be purchased. However,
occasionally, special items (t-shirts, sweatshirts) are needed for a specific
number. We try to keep the cost minimal. You will be informed of these items before
picture night.
NOTE: We are
asking parents/grandparents to pay a $10 registration fee ($10 for Mom’s
number and $10 for Dad’s number if both parents skate) to skate in the
show. In previous years participants in
the Mom & Dad’s numbers were still required to purchase a ticket to each
show; this year each parent/grandparent skater will be given a ticket to all 3
performances. This registration fee is non-refundable so if you are not sure of
your availability then wait to sign up because we will allow late signups in
the spring (for the Mom’s and Dad’s numbers only).
Please
fill out form below. This will ensure
that you receive any emails or mailings regarding the ice show, practice
information and picture night.
I would like to
participate in the:
_____ Dad’s Number _____ Mom’s Number
_____ Hockey Player Number (skating experience
